The dwelling that inhabited this site was one that had seen the affect of many alterations over time by an owner builder. As a result of poor workmanship and structural instability total refurbishment and re-planning was undertaken.
The client gave us the freedom to specify and design what we felt was appropriate for the family and the site.The design was constrained by the existing footprint of the building; living and sleeping areas were rearranged to allow the owners and their daughters to have separate areas for relaxation. The stair, living void and outdoor areas are designed to maximize light into the building and capture the view.
