Whale Beach Road, Whale Beach

The primary function of this house is to be a dwelling for large family gatherings. Despite its substantial size tight space planning and clever construction methodology means this home has managed to maintain a small building footprint. The majority of the living areas are located on the upper level of the house to maximise the aesthetic value of the beautiful coastal view and available light. Creating a strong connection between the indoor and outdoor living areas is a fundamental design feature, making the home feel expansive and sun filled, and encouraging flow between the spaces. The central stair also helps achieve this flow as it links to all interior spaces, distributing diffused light through the three levels of the house. A primary focus in the design of the home was its shared spaces. The flexibility of these spaces allow for small to large family gatherings, with areas for both adults and children. Construction methods such as CNC fabrication integrated with our BIM modelling allows accelerated construction and less on-site labour. This spacious family home reflects the design brief by providing a coastal home for large family gatherings and everyday living whilst emphasising the spectacular view and maintaining an inviting atmosphere.
